Integrative Bodywork

Integrative Bodywork is a unique approach that weaves together neuromuscular therapy, myofascial massage and somatic movement. This approach supports clients in the process of releasing pain and discomfort in both the surface and deeper layers of connective tissue and muscles, along with helping to ease emotional discomfort within the body.

Integrative Bodywork FAQ

What to expect in an Integrative Bodywork session?

We initially sit down for a consultation in order to discuss what your needs are. I draw on a Neuromuscular Therapy called the Emmett Technique which involves gentle touch to specific pressure points of the muscular system in order to release tension and restore optimal health to the body. I also incorporate Myofascial Massage Therapy which involves the holding and stretching of the muscles and connective tissue in the body. These therapies are combined with Somatic Movements and Ayurvedic Yoga Massage stretches. The client will be lying on a massage plinth for the bodywork and afterwards I offer somatic practices for the integration process.

Who benefits from an Integrative Bodywork session?

Integrative Bodywork is for those looking for healing from physical pain and/or emotional discomfort in the body. It can benefit those who have physical issues or injuries such as repetitive strain injuries, sciatica, poor posture, back pain, osteoarthritic pain, neck pain, plantar fasciitis, jaw pain, frozen shoulder and migraines. It helps with emotional issues such as anxiety, stress and trauma. It also helps increase the range of motion in our movements and supports both in preventing and treating injuries. Integrative Bodywork can also be helpful as a support to those doing psychotherapy work.
